Karan Kay Johnson, 79 of Springfield passed away at 11:00 pm Saturday, December 23, 2017.  She was born in Springfield on October 6, 1938.

Karan was involved in Art Group, Bridge Club, Canasta, Mah Jong, Knit Now, Knit Wits, ski groups and other groups too numerous to mention.

She was a charter member of King's Way United Methodist Church and a long-time member of Hickory Hills Country Club.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Arvella L. Golden and father O. E. Golden; her husband, Gene C. Johnson and a son, Mark E. McGuire.

Karan is survived by her daughter, Marcie McGuire of Nixa; son, Stuart Johnson of Springfield; grandchildren, Kole Henslee of Nixa, Kasey Henslee of Springfield, Kalie McGuire and J. W. McGuire both of Rogersville.

A celebration of life will be Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 10:00 am in King's Way United Methodist Church with the Reverend Laura Murphy officiating.  A reception and time for story telling will follow the services at the church.
