IN LOVING MEMORY OF
June B.
Rudolph
April 18, 1925 – March 31, 2016
June B. Rudolph, 90, passed away peacefully at 10:30 am, Thursday, March, 31, at her Springfield home with both of her daughters by her side. She was born April 18, 1925 in Casper Wyoming. Her husband, James Craig Rudolph; parents, George Ann Bishop and Marvin L. Bishop II; and her brother, Marvin L. Bishop III, preceded her in death.
June graduated from Casper High School, where as an honor student, she played Hungarian Rhapsody for her high school graduation. She was a freshman student at Mills College in San Francisco before finishing her undergraduate degree at Northwestern University in Chicago. While at Northwestern she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority and Homecoming Queen at Notre Dame University.
After graduating from Northwestern, June married James Craig Rudolph of Brush Colorado on August 23, 1947. The newlyweds settled in Brush where June became a music teacher until her first child was born. After Brush, June followed her husband, an executive at Hallmark Cards, to Cheyenne, Denver, and ultimately Kansas City where she was active in her Presbyterian Church and many civic organizations such as the DAR and PEO. While in Springfield, she was active in the Springfield Regional Opera Guild.
When June's husband retired, she and Craig moved to Springfield, Missouri in the beautiful Southern Hills area on a pond that became her sanctuary. For some 30 years, the roses, bougainvillea, lilies and array of flowers June raised aside this magical pond brought her joy through her final days.
Travel was always a favorite pastime. Once her children were grown, June and Craig traveled extensively, with Istanbul, Turkey; Venice, Italy and London being among their favorite places. But no place was ever quite like home.
June is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Maren and Paul Kazmierczak of New York; Arlyn and Ray Silvey of Kansas City. Additionally, she is survived by two grandsons, Anthony Kazmierczak, and Craig Kazmierczak and Craig's wife Kelly, as well as four great-grandchildren: Erin, Kevin, Connor, and Christian Kazmierczak.
A Remembrance Service will be held in First & Calvary Presbyterian Church in the Prayer Chapel (south portico entrance) at 11:00 am, Monday, April 4, 2016.
