June V. (Argue) Palcheff, age 88, of Springfield, MO passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO. June was born May 24, 1926 in St. Louis, MO. She attended St. Louis Public Schools and Miss Hickey's Secretarial School. She worked at the Federal Reserve Bank in St. Louis prior to marrying Chris L. Palcheff on June 25, 1950. June and Chris moved to Springfield in the summer of 1958. June was a dedicated volunteer with many community organizations; Camp Fire Girls, The Mary E. Wilson Home, Greene County Medical Society Auxiliary, The Medical Museum and Meals on Wheels, to name a few. She was an avid reader and loved playing cards and working crossword puzzles. She was a member of SMMA World Arts group, King's Way United Methodist Church and two bridge clubs. She loved being a grandmother to her two grandchildren. The birth of her great-grandson in March 2013 brought her such joy. She loved her family and friends and was a great listener and was always there to provide love, support and advice. June was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Henry and Elise Katherine (Bieman) Argue; sister, Velta (Argue) and husband, Jack Smythe; brother, Joe Argue and wife, Rose (Pierce); brother-in-laws, George Palcheff and John Palcheff; and daughter, Christine Elizabeth Palcheff. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Dr. Chris Palcheff; daughter, Carol and husband, Charles Pearson all of Springfield, MO; daughter, Mary and husband Randy Wiemer; granddaughter, Jennifer and husband Chris Seris and their son, Jackson all of Columbia, MO; grandson, Zach Wiemer and wife Jenn of Germantown, TN; sister-in-law, Mary Tarpoff of Granite City, IL; sister-in-law, LaVerne Palcheff of Jerseyville, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 14, 2014 at King's Way United Methodist Church with The Reverend Jon Spalding officiating. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a children's or community charity of your choice.
