IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Judy
Gailey
March 10, 1942 – February 27, 2026
Judy Clare Gailey, 83, of Bolivar, MO, was born on March the 10th, 1942, to Loyd and Leila Shelton.
She grew up in Marionville, Missouri, and after high school, went on to become on of the first female barbers in the state of Missouri. During her career she met hundreds of people, with most of whom she became close friends. Later in life she developed a love of photography, and she maintained a photography studio as well as her barber career. She used her talents to provide beautiful memories to portraits, weddings, and other special event clients.
She was the mother of three sons—Drew, Mark, and Darren. In 1998, she married her knight in shining armor and best friend, John Gailey. They enjoyed many adventures travelling together and learned ballroom dancing. Both had an inherent love of animals and there were always at least two dogs and cats in their home. Needless to say, they were treated better than most people's children. She was strong in her Catholic faith and rarely missed a Sunday Mass.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Dan and Ben Shelton; and her husband John. She left this earth on February the 27th to dance on the streets of gold with her beloved John.
She is survived by her sons, Drew Alexander (Elizabeth) of Bolivar, MO, Mark Alexander (Bin Shi) of Fort Valley, Georgia, and Darren Sullivan, of Fair Play, MO.
Her legacy also includes four grandchildren, Mark, Jacy, Emilee and Addison, as well as four great grandchildren.
Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers and memorial gifts to family, she requested tat donations be made to the Polk County Humane Society, or a local rescue shelter of your choice.
Her family would like to think Northwood Hills Care Center and Citizens Memorial Hospice Services for the wonderful care that they provided. She will be greatly missed.
