In Loving Memory of Judy Ann Douglas
March 17, 1957 – October 15, 2026
With loving hearts and cherished memories, the family of Judy Ann Douglas, age 69, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, announces her passing on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
Judy, affectionately known as “AJ”, was born in Springfield, Missouri, to the late W.B. and Frances Douglas.
Judy was a member of St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She loved the Lord, cherished her family, enjoyed traveling, shopping, and bowling. Her faith, family, and friendships were among the greatest blessings of her life.
Known for her quick, sharp wit, she always kept those on their toes and thoroughly entertained. She was a true foodie who delighted in good food and had a remarkable sweet tooth. Her love of sweets earned her the affectionate family nickname "Cookie Monster."
Above all, Judy treasured her family. She shared an especially loving bond with her great-nephew, Bryant Alexander Scott, whom she affectionately called "The Great Boy." He held a special place in her heart and brought her immeasurable joy.
Judy also deeply valued the friendships she cultivated throughout her life, particularly her remarkable 60-year friendship with her childhood friend, Vicky Tucker. Their enduring friendship was a testament to the importance Judy placed on love, loyalty, and lasting connections.
Judy was preceded in death by her beloved parents, W.B. Douglas and Frances Lee Douglas; her sister, Johnetta Sue Douglas; her brother, Bryant Steven Douglas; and longtime love, Dwayne “Pedy” Evans.
She is survived by her nieces, Tracy and LeAnna Scott, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Mikayla Douglas of Charlotte, North Carolina; and her great-nephew, the joy of her life, Bryant Alexander Scott of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
A celebration of Judy's life will be held on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in Springfield, Missouri, with the Reverend Willie Weary officiating. Services are under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hazelwood Municipal Cemetery. No visitation is scheduled.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Facial Pain Research Foundation (FPRF) in Judy's honor.
May her memory remain a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
