Judy was born March 09, 1942 in Mansfield, Wright County, Missouri to Garrett W. Sr., and Blanche C. Davis Carter. Judy passed away Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Cox South Medical Center, Springfield, Missouri. She started grade school in Mansfield, Missouri then the family moved to Springfield where she continued on through and graduated from Parkview High School in 1960. While employed at Dayco, Judy met Charles F. Cook and on January 31, 1969 they were married in Republic Christian Church, Greene County, Missouri. To this union one son, Christian Cook, was born. Judy later worked for the Springfield Public School food service system and retired in 2005. Judy was a very supportive loving wife and a good mother. Christian was the focus of her life. The granddaughters, Sarah and Rachel were very special to her. She loved the outdoors, her flowers, garden and weekends at the farm near Norwood. Judy is survived by her husband, Charles, son, LTC Christian, his wife Christina and their two daughters Sarah and Rachel Cook; three brothers, Swede, G.W. and Lynn Carter, two sisters, Lunda Hickey and June Mahaffey; many family members and friends. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Metz and Lewis Carter. Visitation will be Sept. 22 Sunday evening from 7:00 to 8:00. Funeral services will be at 1:00 O'clock, Monday Sept 23 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
