Juanita Jean Prince, age 81 of Springfield, MO passed away peacefully in her home, joining her Lord in Heaven, at 3:45 p.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Jean was born in Pittsburgh, KS and was raised in Liberal, MO and Columbia, MO. After college at Missouri University she moved to Chicago and then St. Louis before finally settling in Springfield where she, along with her mother, lovingly raised five children. Her family was the focus of her life and her home was the center of holiday and family events. She was employed for 30 years with the Springfield-Greene County Health Department as the county registrar and retired in 2001. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, James M. and Helen C. Mohler; and two brothers, Dawson and Douglas Mohler. She is survived by two daughters, Lynn Prince and Karen Prince, both of Springfield; three sons, Monroe Prince, Springfield, Michael Prince, Las Vegas, NV and Guy Prince, Springfield; eleven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 18, 2015 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with Pastor Wally Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 3250 S. National Ave., Springfield, MO 65807.
