Juanita Bass Peters was born in Louisburg, Missouri on May 11, 1911 and passed away on June 4, 2013 in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 102. Juanita made a profession of her faith in Jesus Christ at a young age and was an active church member throughout her life. She married James W. Peters on July 20, 1930 and lived much of her life in Buffalo, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mary Bass; her husband, Jim Peters; a daughter, Theresa Thomas; son- in- law, Darrell Davenport; a grandson, Dennis Mallory; and grandson-in-law, Randy Brown. She is survived by daughters, Wanda Lee Davenport and Joann (Arthur) Mallory; son- in- law, William (Bill) Thomas; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 8 at First Baptist Church, Springfield, MO with visitation at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Oak Lawn cemetery in Buffalo at 2:00 p.m. on June 8.
