Juanita Wiles Carr, 100, Springfield, passed away peacefully January 19, 2013. After teaching First Grade for 23 years Juanita retired and was active in St. Johns Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling and had a passion for gardening. She was a member of First and Calvary Presbyterian Church and the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, David J. Carr. She is survived by daughters, Martha Lundh (Richard) and Mary Carr; grandchildren, Teri Young, Anne Sikes, David Gavisk (Melanie), and Patrick Gavisk (Tracy). Great grandchildren include Nicole Mitchell, James Nixdorf, Paige Sikes and Emma Gavisk and great-great-grandson, Brady Inman. There are also many extended family members and friends who have held a special place in Juanita's heart. Sincere thanks are extended to The Gardens Memory Care, Jordan Creek Nursing and Rehab and Good Shepherd Hospice for their loving care during the last six years. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, January 26 at Maple Park Cemetery under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
