IN LOVING MEMORY OF

In Loving Memory of Joyce Bonita Turner
July 2, 1944 – April 17, 2025
Joyce Bonnette (Bonita) Turner, born on July 2, 1944, in Mountain View, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025, at her son's home in Everton, Missouri, at the age of 80.
To her family and most who knew her, she was "Granny", "Bon" or "Mom". Bonita was a tough lady; strong in her convictions, steady in her presence, and full of grit. But she loved just as tough, fiercely devoted to God and her family. She had a gift of bringing joy and laughter into any gathering. Her playfulness and wit embodied the idea that life is better served with a side of laughter. Her strength carried generations, and her love grounded them.
Joyce's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was strong in her belief and walked with it daily, whether in whispered prayers or quiet moments. She often worshiped and shared her love for Jesus with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. These moments are a powerful reminder of the deep and enduring love she had for them and the faith that carried her through life.
Joyce is survived by her seven children: Rod (and Vicki) Applegate, (Anne) Joyce Darlene Applegate, Chuck (and Dena) Applegate, Julie Davis, Karen (and Keith) Johnson, Shanda (and Jeff) Holmes, and Samantha Lovetere.
She is also survived by her brothers; David and Gary Applegate and Ronnie Crawford; and sisters; Rena Wood, Lora Wilson, Renda Hill, Lenda Shepard, Gwen (and Marvin) Taylor, and Maggie Crawford.
She was the proud grandmother of Laurie (and Clint), Kari (and Brian), Haley, Jamie (and Eric), Josiah, Jaclyn, Andrea (and DJ ), Heather (and Jake), TJ (and Taniesha), Cres (and Bella), Matthew, Elizabeth, Caleb, Jacob, Victoria (and Brendan), Genevieve, Gabrielle, and Philip.
Additionally, she was blessed with 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought joy and light to her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allen Turner; her parents, Clyde and Eva Crawford (and her biological father, Burl Applegate); her sisters, Louetta Brown, Glenda Griffin, Dorothy (Dot) McGinnis and Brenda Elliott; her brothers, Leo and James Crawford and Bob, Sonny, Roy and Don Applegate; and her grandson Zachary Lindsay. While her absence leaves a deep void, the thought of her reunion with them brings peace to those she leaves behind.
Visitation will be from 3:00 - 5:00 PM on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 28, also at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor the legacy of a woman whose love, strength, and laughter will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
