Joyce S. Smith, 79 of Nixa, MO went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 27, 2023 at her home.  Joyce was born in Chattanooga, TN to Arthur and Mary Harris.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 39 years Richard D. (Racer) Smith, her brother Joe Harris, and her nephew Terry Harris.

She is survived by her daughters Melissa (Mike) Mayes, Melinda Smartt, and grandson Reed Mayes who was brought her joy as well as niece Kaye Harris of Ringgold, GA; niece Joy (Rick) Holsonback of St. Augustine, FL; nephew Todd (Lisa) Haris of Ringgold, GA; step-grandchildren Julia (Andrew) Tarter, Aaron Mayes and Olivia Mayes and two step-great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 2:00 PM in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole, Springfield, MO.
