Joyce Harriman, 69 was born March 13, 1942, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, June 17, 2011 in her home with her family by her side. She fought a brave battle with cancer. She loved her family, loved cooking, loved her God and her church. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Her testimony will live on forever in the hearts of her family. She had a sweet spirit during her illness and we have many wonderful memories of her humor! She was a graceful lady. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Thurman and Myrtle Floyd and one son, Stanley Harriman, killed while protecting his country in Afghanistan. Joyce is survived by her husband Chesley (Buzz) Harriman, three sons; Shawn, Patrick and Steve. Also surviving are six grandchildren, three sisters and three brothers, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In lieu of flowers the family wishes that donations be made to Stan the Man Foundation, 2615 Taylors Chapel Road, Dunn, North Carolina 28334. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, June 21, 2011 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with the Rev. Hosea Bilyeu officiating. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery. No visitation is scheduled.
