Our sweet, beloved mother, Joyce Lee Gray (Phillips), passed away at the age of 88 on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 in Springfield, MO at Mercy Hospital under the care of their Hospice Care team.

Joyce suffered from Dementia/Alzheimer's the last 18 years and after a short illness she went to meet her Lord and Savior.

Joyce was born December 15, 1937, in Mena Arkansas, the oldest daughter of the late Earl Phillips and Marjorie Phillips (Galloway) and later the family moved and raised their family in Fort Smith, AR.

Joyce met the love of her life, the late Harold Dean Gray. They married on December 28, 1957. Joyce and Harold had three children: Timothy D. Gray, Pamela C. Mayfield, and Teresa L. Bosier. She was a devoted spouse and mother to her children and loved being at home with all of them. Her family was the joy of her life! Joyce and Harold had the great honor of living in Austin, TX, Los Angeles, CA, St. Louis, MO and finally retiring to Bella Vista, AR in 1993.

Joyce gave her life to the Lord in 1948 and was a good and faithful servant to all around her. She learned to play the piano at the age of 6 and became the pianist for Glover Memorial Methodist at the age of 14 and then at the First Baptist Church of Fort Smith. She continued with lessons in piano and organ, eventually playing at Parkway Baptist Church in St. Louis, MO and at Bella Vista Baptist Church in Bella Vista, AR.

Joyce was also very active in Bible Study Fellowship in Los Angeles, CA and in St. Louis, MO where they resided. She also loved to sew and crochet.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Marjorie Phillips, her husband of 49 years, Harold D. Gray, her daughter Pamela C. Mayfield, her brother Lynn Phillips and youngest sister Brenda J. Fitting.

She is survived by her son Timothy D. Gray (Kristi), her daughter Teresa L. Bosier (Kenny), Sister Patsy Tuer and brother-in-law Gary Tuer, Son-in-law Nathan Mayfield and 5 Grandchildren: Paul Mayfield, Jessica Shepard, Victoria Tufts, Allison Brierly and Christopher Brierly, along with 11 Great Grand Children and many nieces and nephews.

A Private service for just the family will be held at a later date.
