Joyce Darlene Ferguson, age 89, daughter of Thelma and Ray J Martin, was born May 28, 1936 in Keokuk, Iowa. She passed away October 14, 2025.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald E Ferguson; and one brother, Kent Martin.
She is survived by her four children; Connie (Ferguson) Schneider; Jerome (Jerry) Ferguson (LaDawn Ferguson); Michael Ferguson; and Tammy (Ferguson) Inman, (Mike Inman). Grandchildren – Alyssa, Tanner,Blake, Elizabeth, Dana, Tabatha, Raymond, Dylan, Bradley, and Mackenzie. She had 15 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews that she loved very much.
She grew up in Kahoka, Missouri and after finishing high school, she left for California to attend school to become an airline stewardess. She returned home after completing her course and during a New Year's Eve party, met a sailor who had crashed the party. That sailor ended up being the love of her life for the next 61 years. She married Ronald E. Ferguson on April 1, 1956 on Easter Sunday. Together they raised four children while living in Springfield, Missouri. She was a wife, homemaker, wonderful cook, Mom, Grandmother and a woman of strong faith in the Lord. She loved her flowers, sewing, reading, putting jigsaw puzzles together and visiting with her wonderful friends. And…she loved her desserts!!
She attended Parkview Christian Church and has always had an active Christian life, loving the Lord above allelse.

Services will be held Monday, October 20, 2025 at the Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. The service will follow at 11:30 a.m. and burial will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 1p.m.
