IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joyce
Beatty
September 18, 1950 – March 29, 2025
Joyce Ulaine Duggins Beatty was called to her eternal home on March 29, 2025. She was born on September 18, 1950, and is the beloved daughter of E.J. and Venita Napier Duggins.
Born and raised in Mountain Home, AR; she graduated from Mountain Home High School in 1968, earning her nursing degree as an RN from the Burge School of Nursing in Springfield, MO in 1971. She married the love of her life, Edward C. Beatty, Jr. on September 9, 1972. Joyce worked very hard to be an RN and care for all patients as if they were her own family. Joyce worked in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas in pediatric critical care. Joyce served her profession by participating in the development of the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX) and as a member, Vice-President, and President of the Arkansas State Board of Nursing.
Joyce's true joy in life came from the loving relationships she shared with her children, grandson, and husband. Always the family planner, Joyce would go all out for her kids' birthdays, talking about them to anyone who would listen. Joyce would often be found soaking up memories with her family at the kitchen table playing various card games. Time spent with her loved ones was highlighted by their traveling and experiencing all that those vacations had to offer, from extensive itineraries on trips to Europe to cruising the world's oceans to visiting multiple states. Joyce's passion was sharing those experiences with others.
Joyce found solace in the steadfastness the Catholic Church offered her faith.
Survived by her husband of 52 years, Edward C. Beatty, Jr.; their son, Jon (Leslie) Beatty of Prairie Grove, AR; their daughter, Katie (Stephen) Ferraguti of Hatfield, PA; their cherished grandson, Gianluca Edward Ferraguti, age 9; her mother, Venita Napier Duggins of Mountain Home; sisters Caroleen Ruth (Don) Poynter and Vivian Lynn (Benny) Haney of Mountain Home; as well as many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Joyce is preceded in death by her beloved father, E. J. Duggins; her dear in-laws, Edward and Ann Beatty; "Grandma" Utha Napier; her treasured pets, JK and NitNoy.
