IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joshua Mark
Barron
August 29, 1973 – November 18, 2019
Joshua Mark Barron was born on August 29th, 1973 in Auburn California. He traveled the world but found his home in Missouri. He left this world on November 18th, 2019 peacefully at home with his family just like he wanted.
Josh was a passionate soul giving all he had to everything and everyone he set his mind to.
He loved his family with an indescribable passion. His wife, boys, and dogs were his world. He would do anything to make sure they were taken care of, including fighting ALS for far longer than he had to. He was an amazing husband always protecting, providing a listening ear, hilarious banter, and the kind of friendship some people only dream of. He was also a proud father always willing to coach a team or help the boys with practicing, and was there to listen and provide lessons and advice on life. The life lessons he spent so many hours teaching us will live on and provide a strong basis for all we say and do from here.
Joshua loved all things outdoors and hunting and lived to spread that love to others. He used his exceptional dog training ability to help in spreading that passion through his business Red Baron Retrievers that he worked hard to build alongside his wife. There was never a day when he did not speak of hunting, training, or helping others.
While he was happy to live in his cabin in the woods he also loved traveling and seeing the amazing beauty our world has to offer. He wanted to show his family far more of it than he had a chance to. He felt that to truly understand others and yourself you needed to see and learn as much as possible and that traveling provided a great opportunity to do both.
While he always understated his military service he was a Navy Veteran and was happy to serve his nation, always ready to do what was called of him. He wants all of those considering military service to know the realities of ALS (Lou Gherigs disease) and that they are more than twice as likely to get it than the average population.
He is survived by his soulmate, wife Amy Barron and their 3 amazing sons Cooper, Foster, and Lawson, and numerous friends he prefers to call family. We have all been made better people for having him in our lives.
While he hated the roles being reversed this last year with us taking care of him, he truly went down in a Blaze of Glory, showing us how to fight to take care of those that we love no matter how hard it is.
Visitation will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home on Thursday, November 21st, 2019 from 6-8pm and the family asks that you wear camo if you have it. His celebration of life will be at a later date.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Joshua Barron Fundraising Account at any Great Southern Bank (to continue his wish of helping women and young hunters) or to the ALS Association Mid America Chapter.
