Joseph F. Honeycutt, 76 of Springfield passed away at 5:30 am Monday, September 27, 2021 in his home.

Joe was born in Midland, Texas on May 25, 1945 to Levi Wash and Iva Lee (King) Honeycutt.  He graduated from Hillcrest High School.  He attended Rolla S & T for two years where he met his first wife, Shirley.  He served in the Navy for four years and spend most of that time in Spain doing Intelligence work.  Joe received his Master's degree from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield.  He pastored a church in San Francisco for four years. He also worked as a Quality Control Manager for numerous companies including Ford and retired at age 60 for health reasons.  He met and married Darlene J. Deal in January 2008.

He was a member of Crossway Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley and his son, Shane as well as two sisters, Daisy and Sonja.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Honeycutt of the home and her family; his son, Shannon Honeycutt of St. Louis, MO; his sister, Louanna LaCompte; his niece, Terri DeGroot and his nephew, Ron Woods all of Springfield.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 1, 2021 at 11:00 am in Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home with burial to follow in Hazelwood Cemetery.  No visitation is planned.
