Joseph Charles Guccione, 76, died Wednesday, September 14, 2011 in his home. He was born May 14, 1935 in St. Louis, the son of Joseph and Mary DiMagio Guccione. Mr. Guccione is survived by his wife Gwendolyn; two sons, Douglas Charles Guccione and wife Mary and Joseph Michael Guccione; a daughter-in-law, Patty Herndon; a brother Jim Guccione and wife Betty; sisters, Mary Midiri and Rose Lambi and husband Paul; eight grandchildren, Annelise, Alaina, Scott, Matt, Jessica, Alexis, Samuel, and Madeline Guccione and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Allan Guccione. He was an avid Springfield and St. Louis Cardinals fan, rarely missing a game. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m, Saturday, September 17, 2011 in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with Msgr. Thomas Reidy celebrant. Burial will follow in Frazier Cemetery near Boaz, Missouri. Visitation will be Friday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with a prayer service beginning at 7:30 p.m.
