Joseph D. Cortese, 74, Springfield, passed away Monday, December 28, 2009 in St. John's Hospital after a long illness. He was born December 3, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois. He is survived by his wife Geri, Springfield; three daughters, Dr. Cherise Cortese, Jacksonville, Fl, Terise Jewett, West Mansfield, Ohio and Keri Walk, Springfield; a son, Joseph Cortese, Springfield; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. At Mr. Cortese's request, no services are planned
