Joseph Marvin Coon, 96, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015. He was born August 31, 1918. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Virginia; and his sister, Doris Lovegreen of Frotenac, MO. Marvin is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Billie Coon; daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Bob Mulford; a brother, Lowell Coon of Rogersville, MO; a sister, Marion Ruhl and her husband, Bud of Westminster, CA; and his friend, Ann Murrell. A celebration of Marvin's life will be held at the South Side Senior Center on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Marvin requested that there be no services and his burial will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel.
