Obituary

J. Phillip Padron, son of Jorge and Dorothy Padron, passed away on June 21st, 2026 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis MO at the age of 63.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Padron, his sister Anne Smid, his brother Charles Padron, and by his children Anthony Charles, Andrew Lewis, and Amelia Anne.
Phillip, better known as “Phil” to those who knew him and friends and family, was a chemist at KO Manufacturing in Springfield for twenty-two years. His livelong love for the outdoors and sporting activities kept him close all his life to the Springfield area and its natural environment. His favorite pastime had to be playing golf in competition or just with friends. He was a member of the Kickapoo and Drury golf teams when he had been a student at each. He also was an excellent bowler, having bowled a perfect 300 game. He attended Horace Mann Elementary as a child, and graduated from Kickapoo High School in 1980, and Drury University in 1984. He enjoyed passing time with his children, all three in distinct ways: with Anthony he loved playing chess, with Andrew all football-related, and with Amelia, just being together and doing what she liked. He appreciated quiet moments with his grandchildren, Roxy, Rowan, Ledger, Luna, and Loxley. All our hearts were shattered when the news arrived of his passing.
He will truly be missed by all who loved him, and he leaves an unfillable hole in the lives of those to whom he was dear.
