Obituary

John Coplin Weaver, age 66, passed away September 3, 2025 in Willard, MO with his wife and friends by his side. He was born in Knoxville, TN to Wayne and Mary Weaver who have preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Terry Jessup Weaver, of 43 years of marriage. They have two daughters, Kim Badgett of San Angelo, TX and her husband James Badgett and Jessica Nash of Springfield, MO. He has one sister, Kate Axlund of Pueblo, CO and one nephew, Travis Axlund of Pueblo, CO. John has 2 grandchildren, Garrett Carlile of Mertzon, TX and Lana Coleman of Springfield, MO.

John received his undergraduate degree from Harding University in Searcy, AR and his master's degree from East Texas State University in Commerce, TX in Counseling.

With his counseling training, he helped people of all ages go through college life as an Assistant Dorm Director at Texas State Technical College in Waco, TX, Financial Aid Officer at TSTC in Abilene, Student Life Counselor and teacher at Springfield College/Corinth College in Springfield.

In 2000, he moved to Springfield, MO and worked various jobs until he started working at Good Samaritan Boys Ranch in Brighton, MO as the Director of Human Resources. June of 2025, he retired from 17 years of service.

Nothing pleased and thrilled him more than seeing people succeed in life whether in college, family, marriage, jobs, parenthood, or manhood.

He loved James River Church and the people who showed their love for Jesus through their life of service.

There were three groups of people he could talk about endlessly: our Life Group, the Tuesday Morning Men's Prayer Group, and Good Samaritan Boys Ranch. He loved people of all ages, and no one was a stranger to him. If you were new, he would go out of his way to meet you and make you feel welcomed and part of the family of God.

He lived large and loud for the Lord and now he sees Him Face-to-face!

Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Boys Ranch.
