John H. Stogsdill (Papa John), 74, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 after a very couragious battle with ALS. John was born June 30, 1935 and was preceeded in death by his parents, Irene and Norman Stogsdill and son Frank Stogsdill. He is survived by his devoted loving wife of 32 years, Patsy Stogsdill; daughter Tammy Lynn Cox; brother Frank Broshears and Carolyn; stepchildren Cindy Campbell and Jim; Mark Camp and Dorothy; grandchildren Chelsea, Dustin, Derek, Jonathan, Timothy, Matthew, David, Nicholas and Jessica; great-grandchildren Seth and Camden; nephew, John and nieces Janell and Jeannette, all of whom loved him dearly. John served his country for 13 years in the Air Force, then worked 34 years for Harry Cooper Supply Co., retiring in 2000. John had a wonderful sense of humor, sunny disposition and loved his family so much. He will be missed not only by his family, but by all those that knew and loved him. A very special thanks to Debra Harlan and Melissa Pamperien for their amazing support during this very difficult time. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, with a gravside service to be held on Monday, March 29th at 2:30 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
