Obituary
John P. Slankard, Jr. of Mt. Vernon, MO, passed away April 1, 2025.
He was born January 7, 1932, in Campbell, MO to J. P. and Lavesta Slankard. John attended the University of Missouri at Columbia and Drury College in Springfield.
John retired from Burlington Northern Railroad in 1987.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Erma Slankard, one daughter, one sister, and one brother.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Ketchum and Nancy Greene; one sister, Linda; and numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Graveside Service with Full Military Honors will be held Friday, April 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
