John Michael "Mike" Richardson, age 64 passed away unexpectedly May 28, 2016 at Mercy Hospital. He was born July 18, 1951 in Springfield, MO to Guy L. and Nancy Richardson. He was married to Linda Cornett Richardson for 40 years.

Mike graduated from Central High School in 1969 and received a B.S. degree in Education from Missouri State University in 1974. He began working for the State of Missouri in 1976. He was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church in Springfield, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his youngest brother Bobby. He is survived by his wife, two children, daughter Sharon Prugger (Cody) and son William Richardson; sisters Alice Richardson of Springfield, Barbara Jean Corson (Bob) of Strafford and Mary Highfill (Kent) of Springfield; brothers Tom (Ann) of Springfield, Dan (Donna) of Strafford, and Larry (Nancy) of Flagstaff, AZ. He is also survived by a large extended family whom he was very fond of.

Visitation will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home on Thursday, June 2nd from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Prayer Service will follow at 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM Friday, June 3rd at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Springfield followed by the burial at Maple Park Cemetery.
