John (Jack) R. Norton, age 68 of Springfield, MO passed away at noon on May 23, 2012 in Cox South Hospital, Springfield. John retired as a Yard Master with the Railroad. After retirement, he worked part-time at Rivercut Golf Course, and volunteered at Hulston Cancer Center. John was preceded in death by a son, Michael Norton. He is survived by his wife, Vickie (Combs) Norton, a sister JoAnn and husband Mike Ballinger of Cincinnati, Ohio; his mother-in-law Claudette Combs; and his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, May 25, 2012 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.
