John C. Platcher, 65, Ozark, passed away Monday, February 9, 2009 in his home. He was born February 12, 1943 in Oak Park, Illinois, the son of Charles Terrance and Dorothy M. Brougham Platcher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Randall and Charles Platcher; and a sister, Jane Krecker. John is survived by his loving wife, Jonelle, of the home; a son and his wife, Jeffrey and Therese Platcher, Wildwood, Missouri; a daughter, Christine Harman, Chicago, Illinois; three sisters, Francy Scott and her husband, Jim, Halfway, Missouri; Mary Jo Gold and her husband, Dwain, Springfield; and Margie Byerly and her husband, Gary, Coal City, Indiana; three grandchildren, Kristen, Kaitlyn and Nathan Platcher; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many loved and valued friends. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2009 in St. Agnes Cathedral with Father Michael V. McDevitt and Father Thomas Keifer, celebrants, under the care of Bob and Don Lohmeyer of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Burial will follow in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Bolivar, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Agnes Cathedral.
