John Francis Mahoney blessed this world on August 28, 1938. Born in Baldwinville, Massachusetts to Phillip Joseph and Mary Florence Mahoney. Brought up in their Irish ways, Johnny was a lover of the Lord, the Boston Celtics, good beer, and of course his right hand woman, the love of his life, mother of his children, and wife of 50 years- Gracie Pearl Mahoney. Together they lived their lives through love, prayer, and intention. Johnny made his final salute to this world Saturday, March 15th, 2014 at 10:40 pm; Joining his love an hour and 20 minutes before the celebration, so as to never spend another birthday apart. Leaving behind a legacy for several generations, beginning with his six beloved children, Beginning with their eldest daughter: Marlene & husband Billy Langwell- children Eugene Henry& wife Nicole, Tiffany; Matthew Henry & wife Susan, and Natasha. Marlene's grandchildren include: Johnny, Kyle, Jay, Amber, Angel, Chance, Anzie, Alana, Justin, Sean, Caleb, Daniel, Elijah, Malik, Simone, and Isis. Second eldest daughter, Marschel Cowan & husband Robert, and their children: Kisha & husband Kris Murrell, Korey Haun & wife Amanda, Kalet, Abbigail, Austin, and Jacob. Marschel's grandchildren include: Delaney, Quinton, Kali, Keaton, River, Ceth, Brylee, Kaidyn, Kiauna, Alivia, and Tadhg. Their third daughter, Patricia & husband Don Thornburg, and their children: Michel, Monique, Aletrice, and Donnica. Patricia's grandchildren include: Jayden, Brooklyn, Essence, Mikalah, Anthony, and MJ. And their baby girl: Mary & Vincent Stout and their children: Jamayne, Kendrae, Jonathan, Imari, and Malachi. Mary's grandchildren include: Aaliyah, Lily, Casey Isaiah, and Kylee. Their first boy, Mark & his children: Jessica, Christian, Audrey, and Noah. Mark's grandchild include: Benjamin. And baby boy, Charles & wife Mary and children: Malik, and Simone. He will be sorely missed, but celebrated by all who knew and loved him. Join us in an Irish wake, toasting to Johnny this Thursday March 20th, 2014 from 5-8pm at Gorman- Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole. The Patriot Guard will be leading the funeral precession Friday, March 21st, 2014 at 10am from Gorman-Scharpf to the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
