(Jack) Dunn

John E. (Jack) Dunn, 88, of Springfield, Mo., died May 13, 2024.
He was born June 13, 1935, in Springfield, to John L. and Inez (Davis) Dunn. He married Carol Alewel on February 14, 1959, in Concordia, Mo.
Jack and his family moved back to Springfield in 1970, where he took a position as a radio broadcaster and became the voice of SMSU Bears football and Drury College Panther men's basketball. Later, he went into business and retired from Lincoln Land Title Co.
Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. He and Carol were charter members of Millwood Golf and Racquet Club, where Jack was inducted into its Golf Hall of Fame. He was a longtime and active member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Preceding him in death was his youngest grandchild, James Kyle Bruton, in 2010.
Jack is survived by his wife, Carol; son Tim (Tracy); daughters Patrice (David) Johnson and Angela (Jim) Bruton. His grandchildren are Kelsey (Will) Reynolds, John (Amy) Dunn, Neil (Jenna) Johnson, Laura (Ethan) Hedges, and Halli (Matt) Rainer. His great-grandchildren are Jack and Matthew, Billy and Rosemary, Raylan and Wyatt, Liliana, and Beau. He is also survived by his sister, Kathryn Neely, of Springfield.
Visitation will take place on Friday, May 17, 2024 from 5 to 7 p.m., at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole St., Springfield. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1415 S. Holland, Springfield. Burial will be at Klingner-Cope at Rivermonte.
