Obituary

John Roylance III, 62, passed away on Friday, December 24th in his sister's home after a long struggle with COPD. In his final days he was lovingly cared for by Seasons Hospice; his sister Bonnie Roswurm, her husband Dan, and Dan's mother, Bonnie; his niece, Angie Wise; and his daughter, Meredith Anderson. John was born on January 10, 1948 in Miami, FL to Gertrude and John Roylance, Jr. The family moved to Ash Grove, MO where John attended high school. He was the President of the class of 1966 and a valuable player on the basketball and baseball teams. John worked most of his life in the circuit board industry in Springfield as a supervisor at Litton Industries and a manager at Solid State Circuits. He ended his professional career at Amelex Inc in 2003 when he became disabled from Emphysema. John is survived by his mother, Gertrude Roylance; two daughters, Meredith Anderson and husband John, and Monica Allman and husband Chad; three grandchildren, Colin Allman, Caitlyn Allman, and Ian Anderson; one sister, Bonnie Roswurm; three brothers, Tom Roylance, Henry Roylance, and William Roylance; and three nieces, Angie Wise, Crystal Maples, and Mandi Roylance. John was an honorable man who loved to joke and laugh. He will be missed dearly by all of his friends and family. Visitation will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home on Thursday, January 6 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. There will be no funeral service per John's request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association, Southwest Missouri Office, 2053-D South Waverly, Springfield, MO, 65804.
