It is with great sadness that the family of John Ned Harmon announces his passing on July 23, 2025 at the age of 74.

John was born in Litchfield, Illinois to John Russell and Mary Lee Harmon on March 21, 1951. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years Mary Pat; children Katie (Matt), Colleen (Justin), and Andy (Kaylan); along with his seven grandchildren, Chase, Wyatt, Grant, Payton, Nora, Shane and Cooper. He was lovingly adored by his three younger sisters Mary Rohde, Susie Opelka and Tammy Cole; and numerous family members and friends; many that he has known since childhood.

John was a proud graduate of St. John Vianney High School and Benedictine College. After graduation he supported his family by working in the commercial insurance industry where he was known for his hard work and successful relationships he built throughout the industry. John, "The Mayor" could be found almost every weekend at Table Rock Lake where he and Mary Pat were active members of the Show Me Shores Community. He occasionally took breaks from the lake to go deer hunting or golfing. He loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home on Wednesday July 30, 2025 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. 1947 E. Seminole, Springfield, Missouri 65804. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday July 31, 2025 at 11:00am at Immaculate Conception Parish. 3555 S Fremont Avenue Springfield, MO. A luncheon will follow the Mass in the parish hall.
