John Dorrell Cattlett April 23, 1922-February 17, 2015 A loving father and a "sweet man" to many. John was raised by Christian parents on the family's dairy farm along with five siblings. He leaves behind one surviving brother, Charles, age 90 of Springfield; a son, John Michael; daughter, Cynthia; nephew, Carl and wife, Audrey; and nieces, Linda and Karen. He helped build Fort Leonard Wood as a carpenter's helper and did his part to win WW II and to preserve America's freedoms. Home port was San Diego, California. He married an Oklahoma girl, Della Marie on June 19, 1946. Both Della and John shared American Indian heritage. John was TPA secretary for a dozen years and a good supervisor at Lily Tulip. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, building and listening to music. He refinished antique furniture and loved turning wood on a Civil War Era lathe. He kept up with current events and answered surveys. He enjoyed taking his son on coffee breaks and made friends easily. John was a very optimistic and confident and caring man.
