John Gates Bradley, age 53, of Springfield, passed away at Mercy Hospital on April 24, 2017 with close friends by his side.

He was born in Springfield, MO the son of Forrest Wayne and Carolyn Joanne (Gates) Bradley September 28, 1963.  He graduated from Greenwood High School in 1981 and later graduated with a Bachelor of Library Science from SMS.

John was baptized and a member of The Downtown Church of Springfield, a member of the Springfield Vintage Motor Club and was an alternate in the 2004 Congressional district in Springfield, MO for John Kerry.  He worked for the Springfield Greene County Brentwood Library for over 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Forrest, who passed away in 2011, along with his mother, Carolyn, who passed away in 2015.

John is survived by many, many friends who loved and cared for him.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 12 to 2:00 PM in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with funeral services following at 2:00 PM in the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery.  Friends may stop by the funeral home after 2:00 PM on Monday to pay their respects.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made the charity of the donor's choice, any charity of John's interest, or Mercy Hospice.
