John W. Bareford, 72, of Springfield, MO passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, July 30, 2017. John was born on April 1, 1945 in Charleston, SC, the son of George and Eleanor Bareford. John had many family members and friends that he loved, was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing and loved St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He was retired from General Electric where he was employed for thirty years. John had a personality full of humor, fun-loving spirit, generosity, energy and enthusiasm. He was a joy to know and we are all lucky to have called him family or friend.

John was preceded in death by his parents and brother George Bareford. He is survived by his significant other of 17 years, Ali Deckard, his daughter, Judy Mulrenin and husband Tom; Ali's daughters Angela Strickler and Jennifer Deckard; his brother, Gary Bareford and wife Shirley; sister, Jane Caughlan and husband Ron; six grandsons, Jonathan, Lucas and Nicholas Walden, Cole and Collin Strickler, Gavin Coffman; granddaughter Kynleigh Deckard, and many nephews, nieces, friends and family.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 7:00 pm at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until the time of service. Online condolences may be shared at www.gormanscharpf.com.
