John Timothy Bailey, age 64, of Springfield MO, gained his wings on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. He was born January 19, 1962, in Springfield MO, to Charles L. Bailey Jr and Helen C. Bailey Woods.

He was preceded in death by both parents: Charles L Bailey Jr and Helen C. Bailey Woods, brothers: Hershel Bailey S r, Donnegun (Donnie) Bailey, and James (Jimmy) Bailey.

Survived by son, Avery Dunlap of Chicago IL; sisters, Charlotte Seeby, Derby KS, Youlanda Herron (Tony), Springfield MO, Victoria Kerr (Gregory), Springfield, MO; brothers, Reginald (Reggie) Bailey, Springfield, MO, Bruce Bailey, Springfield MO, Charles Lee Bailey III (Lisa) Springfield, MO, and a host of family and friends.

He was a former member of Pitts Chapel United Methodist Church, who enjoyed ushering and helping others. He was a graduate of Parkview High School who was a member of the Parkview marching band.

Prior to relocating back to Springfield MO, he resided in S t. Louis MO, for 3 0 plus years to pursue his career with Darden Industries and PepsiCo. as a Regional Manager.

He loved family gatherings, cooking, deep sea fishing, and entertaining guests of both family and friends.

His personality, sense of humor and unforgettable spirit brought energy and joy to the lives of those around him. He lived life with a passion that could not be contained, and his laughter and stories would always bring people closer together. He had a special way of making people feel welcome and could turn an ordinary moment into a memory that would last a lifetime.

Though our hearts are heavy by his passing, we are grateful for the years, memories, laughter, and love we shared with him. We will remember his smile, his stories, and most of all the incredible life he lived.

Celebration of life service will be held Friday, August 28, 2026, visitation with family and friends, 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Service 2:30 p.m. -3:30 p.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery.
