Obituary

Johanna Nancy Dimock was born on August 26, 1950, in Lebanon, Missouri, to the late Doyle and Jean Hilton. The Hilton family relocated to Springfield, Missouri, when Johanna was a youngster. Jo lived and worked in Springfield. She graduated from Parkview High School in 1968.

Johanna met and married the love of her life, Richard Allyn Dimock, on November 7, 1996. They were active and dedicated members of Calvary United Pentecostal Church. She loved words and was quite the competitive Scrabble player. She always won the game and never tired of playing. She was also known for her legendary cinnamon and dinner rolls! The homemade baking of breads and rolls was a craft passed down to Johanna from Grandma Nora Hilton. Also, birthdays for nieces, nephews and her daughter meant a beautifully baked and decorated layer cake, personalized by Jo. Johanna earned the nickname, "Gohanna" because she loved to "Be on the Go!" She enjoyed going about town, riding the bus, getting a Pepsi at the local store, or sight-seeing. She and Richard also took annual road trips, traveling the United States and visiting historical and scenic sites.

In addition to her parents, Johanna was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; an infant son, Robert Doyle; her niece, Ashli Hilton; paternal grandparents, Joe E. and Nora Hilton; and her maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Henrietta Campbell.

Johanna is survived by her daughter, Johanna Lynn Bray and spouse, Stephen; a grandson, Gabriel Bray; her sister, Nora Springston and spouse David; a brother, Steve Hilton and spouse, Katie; and her brother, Dwight Hilton and spouse, Annie; niece Katherine Renner and spouse, John; niece, Elizabeth Sita and spouse, Tim; nephew, Benjamin Springston; nephew, Isaac Hilton; nephew, John Hilton and spouse Christie; and nephew, Tim Hilton and spouse Brie. In addition, Johanna is survived by nine great-nephews and nieces, Sharon Renner (favorite Scrabble partner) and other special friends and family.
