Joe Lynn Flournoy, 86, Springfield, MO, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015. He was born July 25, 1929 in Aurora, MO, the son of Jack and Eva Flournoy. Joe was married to his beloved Dorothy for 65 years. He was no stranger to hard-work, starting as a child shining shoes in the square and working his way up to a proud sales representative at RJ Reynolds. He was also proud of his beautiful home that he improved upon with endless projects with his friend Ken and grandson Justin. He loved nothing more than to entertain friends and family with a great Bloody Mary and an evening full of laughs. Let's have a drink and a laugh for Joe. He was a member of Mason's Lodge #608, Elks Lodge #409, Shriner Abou Ben Adhem Shrine, Master Sergeant in the Army, Korean War Veteran and an Atomic Veteran. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; brother, Thomas Flournoy; and best friend, Ken Barnard. Joe is survived by his sister, Nan Mitchell, Branson, MO; daughter, Terisa Kay Flournoy, Springfield; grandson, Justin Lynn Dement and wife, Lisa Woodson Dement, Springfield; nephew, Lynn Mitchell; and niece, Marlene Mitchell. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2015 in Hazelwood Cemetery, under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. No visitation is planned.
