Joe C. Crain, 86, of Saddlebrooke, MO passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021, after a battle with cancer.  He was born September 30, 1934, in Fort Worth, TX and was adopted by Stelton and Edna Crain of Tell, TX.  He later found his birth family and was accepted with open arms by aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He was united in marriage to Mozelle Siegler and had two sons, Joe Stelton and Vernon.  He later married Susan Spillman and accepted her daughter, Kelli, as his own.

Joe spent a career working for Farm Credit Services in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Kansas and advanced from loan officer to executive vice president before retiring.  After retiring, Joe spent time in his shop cutting and welding metal craft items and building primitive wood furniture.  In his last years, he raised cattle on his farm and spent many hours building fences and digging up thistles and sticker trees in the pasture.

Joe was preceded in death by his father, Stelton; mother, Edna; and son, Joe Stelton.  He is survived by his wife Susan, of Saddlebrooke, MO; son Vernon and his wife Kathy, of Mansfield, MO; daughter Kelli and her husband Eric Eberhart, of Ozark, MO; grandchildren, Silas Crain, Weston Crain, Stelton Crain, Lacy Beck, Caden Eberhart and Jake Eberhart; great-grandchildren, Emberly Crain, Kennedy Beck and Maizie Beck.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Schweitzer United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Mason officiating.
