IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joanne Louise
Stillwell
March 2, 1944 – March 8, 2022
J oAnne Louise (Burnett) Stillwel l of Nixa, Missouri was escorted by 3 excellent guides to her Heavenly Home on March 8, 2022.
JoAnne was born March 2, 1944, to Lester Samuel Burnett and Bernice Anna Elizabeth (Bert) Burnett in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan. She lived her early childhood in Springfield Illinois. Her mother moved her and her brother, Bill to San Diego, California where she spent her school years. She graduated from Mission Bay High School 1962. She married David Charles Stillwell (who survives) on March 17, 1962, in Las Vegas, Nevada. In September of that year, she joined him in the Philippine Islands where they lived together for the next two years. They returned to California, then moved to Overland, Missouri, and eventually settled in Springfield, Missouri.
JoAnne and David had two sons, and three daughters. She is survived by one son David (Rebecca) Stillwell of Nixa, Missouri; three daughters Elizabeth (Darren) Obrey of Springfield, Missouri, Rachel (Stephen) England of Nixa, Missouri, and Sarah (Anthony) Barber of Republic, Missouri; 16 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son Daniel William Stillwell, her parents and two brothers, Bill Burnett and Chuck Hoffman.
JoAnne's most important calling was raising her children, but she also had various jobs outside the home as she desired. At one point she owned an arts and craft store for 6 years and later worked as a secretary in her church educational department after her kids were raised.
JoAnne enjoyed traveling with one regret that she never made it to England and Scotland. But she did visit many states in the USA including Hawaii twice. While in the Philippines she was able to take a trip to Hong Kong as well as various sites in the P I.
JoAnne desired to be cremated with no funeral, but she agreed to a celebration of life for her family, saying we could have a party in her honor. A private celebration of life will be held for family only.
