IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joanna Ellen
Woody
April 7, 1978 – September 8, 2021
Joanna Ellen Woody was born April 7, 1978 and passed away September 8, 2021. From a tender age she loved and nurtured her canine companions, Cindy and Susie, and grew into quite the "cat whisperer." She was an adept gardener and an ardent Led Zeppelin listener.
Love for nature and travel went hand-in-hand to guide Joanna's life after graduation from Humbolt State University/California in anthropology. Her adventures took her to world-wide destinations including England, Wales, western and eastern Europe, Myanmar, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Uruguay, as well as our U.S. coasts to visit her special cousins, Suzy and Julie Stohlman.
Joanna's sisu (courageous perseverance) as well as her very gentle nature were admired. She kept constant knitting projects moving to provide special gifts for all the family she loved. Her stature, big smile, wit and wry sense of humor will be missed.
She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Lemmon Manners and stepfather Leonard; father, Raymond D. Woody, Jr. and Aileen; sister, Nivin Partee Wynn and Alan with their children, Hannah and Helena; Uncle Bruce Lemmon and Jean; Aunt Natalie Parker and Joe; Uncle Don Woody and Anne and wonderful nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 23, 2021 in Schweitzer United Methodist Church under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Donations in memory of Joanna may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri.
