Joan Marie Solum was born August 22, 1929 in Yankton, South Dakota. She passed away peacefully at Mercy Hospital with family at her side, March 27, 2016.

She was married in 1958 to Al Solum, who preceded her in death. She had four children, one son, Gregory, preceded her in death. Joan is survived by two daughters, Pam Solum and Andrea Brack and one son, David Solum; three grandsons, Nathan Solum, Justin Solum and Parker Solum.

Joan loved her church, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and was a devoted Catholic.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church with Msgr. Thomas E. Reidy celebrant. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
