Joan Philpott, 86, of Ogden, Utah passed away Friday, January 29, 2010 of natural causes at Mountain Ridge Assisted Living. She was born August 2, 1923, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Martha Belle and Roscoe B. Schooling. On October 9, 1945 she married Norris F. Philpott in Tulsa and spent 48 happy years as residents of Springfield, Missouri. She retired from the Frisco/Burlington Northern Railroad in 1984. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, and daughter, Susan Philpott. Joan is survived by her son Tom Philpott, wife Peggy Philpott, and grandson William Walker of Layton, Utah. Graveside services will be held Friday, February 5, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri. Friends and family may call Thursday, from 4 to 6 p.m., and Friday at 10 a.m. at the Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel.
