Joan (Buzzard) McIntyre, age 92, was born in Barton County, Missouri on December 21, 1931, to Marvin and Clarice (Murphy) Buzzard. After graduating from Golden City High School in 1949, Joan moved to Kansas City, where she was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as a bookkeeper. In 1955 she married Marvin McIntyre, and later had two children.

Marvin and Joan owned and operated Northtown Alignment, an automotive service center in North Kansas City, for thirty years before retiring in 1992. They enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends and family, and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and Missouri State Lady Bears.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Sharon Kaye Buzzard and Darlene Enfield, and Marvin, her husband of 62 years. She is survived by her sons Michael (Rowan) of Chicago, IL and Stephen (Beth) of Springfield, her grandchildren Kate, Annie, Liam, and Emma, as well as numerous other family members and friends.

Joan's family would like to thank the staff at the Manor at Elfindale for the care they provided since 2021, and the Cox Hospital staff, who cared for her in her final days.

Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 30 at Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home. Interment will occur at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Ozarks Food Harvest.
