Joan D. Hoyer, 83 of Springfield, Missouri passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2012. She was born July 28, 1928 in Independence, Kansas to George and Carrie Kingston Dancer. She was married to William E. Hoyer, who precedes her in death. She was a long time employee of Cox Health Systems. She retired on December 31, 1997 as Director of Funds Development. She is survived by her brother Don Dancer (Betty) and a nephew, Craig Dancer (Linda) all of Hickory, North Carolina. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Kingsway United Methodist Church with Rev. Fred Royer officiating. Private burial will be at Springfield National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kingsway U.M.C. Youth Ministries, 2401 South Lone Pine, Springfield, Missouri 65804. Arrangements are by Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
