Obituary

Joan "Josie" Herren was born at home in Cherokee, IA on September 29,1930 to Clifford and Velma Braley, and passed away April 5, 2018.

She was a member of Glendale Christian Church for over 30 years, where her passions included Hospitality and Children's Ministry where she was affectionately known as "Grandma Jo".

Joan retired from the Frisco/BNR RR and was a member of the Frisco Railway Ties. Upon retirement, she worked for Courtney & Peebles Law Firm and the Springfield Trust CO.

She leaves behind her children, Greg (Michelle) Mann, Marcia Burch, Blaine (Marilyn) Mann, Andy (Anne) Mann, and Christie Hancock; step-children, Melanie (Dave) Kaplan, Sheri (Steve) Campbell, and Greg (Debbie) Herren; her sister, Patty (Lanny) Gray; 22 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Norm, granddaughter Courtney (Herren) Gardner, and sons-in-laws Greg Burch and John Hancock

A celebration of her life will be held, Thursday April 12, 2018 at 7:00PM at Glendale Christian Church.
