Jay Gilbreath, 94 of Springfield passed away at 4:18 am on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Mercy Hospital.  He was born the son of Jess and Gladys Gilbreath.

He loved being at the lake, boating, skiing, fishing and really loved to sail, he coached  Coca-Cola fast pitch double A fast pitched softball team, played tennis and enjoyed biking.  He loved to take the dog for a walk and was a member of Second Baptist Church.  He worked for Lily Tulip as Distribution Manager.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Berry; his brother Gerald Wayne (Jerry) Gilbreath and his fur baby, Misty.

Jay is survived by his son, David Gilbreath; grandsons, Jess Gilbreath and Ryan Berry; his sister-in-law Linda Gilbreath; his fur baby, Trixie; and great-grandchildren, Caiden Routh, Emma and Mason, and Aleaha Rone.

Memorial services will be Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 2:00 pm in Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home with a visitation at 1:00 pm until service time.
