Jimmie Harold "Jim" Cantrell, son of Chester and Paralee (Thomas) Cantrell, was born March 22, 1944 in Marshfield, Missouri and passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020 in his home.
Jim graduated from Marshfield High School in 1962 and was a member of the National Honor Society. Following graduation, Jim went to work for Marshfield Steel, later known as Hutchens Industries, and remained a dedicated, loyal employee for 57 years until his passing.
Jim had a love of sports from an early age. He was an accomplished athlete in high school where he participated in football, basketball, track and baseball. After high school, Jim spent many years playing fastpitch softball. He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting.
Jim was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. Nothing made him happier than playing with his granddaughters who lovingly referred to him as Papa.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy (McDonald), in 1992 after 27 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his parents and half-brother, Kenneth Young.
Jim is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sherry (Burros), his children, Jimmy, Jennifer, and Jill (Joe) Fair. He is survived by stepsons Jason (Crystal) Wagner and Darren (Robin) Wagner. Jim is survived by his granddaughters Mackenzie and Sydney Fair, Allison, Rachel and Brookelyn Wagner, and Katy and Madeline Wagner. He is survived by grandchildren, Chris (Ashley) Fair and Kelsey Fair, great-granddaughter, Aubrey Fair, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother Gene (Darlene), half siblings Mike West, Kathy Cantrell and Scott Young.
