Obituary

James Dale Fox, 81 closed his eyes to this world on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 9:36 PM at the Maples Health and Rehabilitation Center in Springfield, MO following a quick and unexpected illness. He was born May 13, 1941 in Denver, CO to Carl Edward and Luella Lucille (Hughes) Fox. Jim was the third of four siblings. He spent all of his elementary through high school years in Denver, CO. Jim enrolled and successfully completed a program in welding and eventually became a certified welder. Jim began his career at the Refinery in Denver.

Jim married Sharon Louise Hummel on September 28, 1962 in Denver. The couple added to their family with a son, David Glenn in 1963 and a daughter, Marci Rene' in 1970.

They later moved to Cheyenne, WY, where Jim worked at the Oil Refinery. They attended the Berean Fundamental Church where they served as youth directors and were active in many other areas of service. The family then moved to California where Jim owned and operated his own welding company. After several years in California, the family moved to Springfield, MO in 1993. Jim again owned and operated his own welding company. He also became a company driver for Tyson Foods before becoming a proud owner/operator of his own truck.

Jim also worked in a Supervisory Maintenance position for the Wooten Company before he retired. After retirement, Jim found enjoyment working as a shuttle driver for TLC in Springfield, MO.

Jim was a member of Seminole Baptist Church in Springfield, MO and later Hillside Baptist Church in Willard.

Jim was one of the cornerstones of his family. Jim accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age while at camp.

Jim is survived by his son, David Glenn Fox of Santa Clarita, CA; daughter, Marci Rene' (Fox) Thaller of Willard, MO; sister, Carol Ann (Fox) Kortekaas of Broomfield, CO; grandsons Kenneth Wayne Fox, Matthew Scott Fox, Ryan Patrick Fox and Jonathan Scott Kelley-Fox; granddaughter, Stephanie Hyein Michelle Fox; great granddaughters Penelope Jane Fox and McKenzie Elizabeth Fox and great grandson, Wade Eugene Fox.

Jim was dearly loved and will be missed by many.

Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Hillside Baptist Church.

Flowers and plants for the service are to be delivered directly to the church no later than 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 25.

Jim's life verses were John 14:1-3:

Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
