Jessie Jewell Ummel, 94 of Springfield passed away Sunday, October 3,2021 in Blue Springs, Missouri.

She was born November 21,1926 in Marmaros, Missouri to Jessie James and Effie Lee (Rice) Peterson.

She lived most of her life in Springfield and worked as a dental assistant and volunteered at Cox Hospital South for over 20 years.

Jewell was a member of Grant Avenue Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd E. Ummel; a son, Larry David Ummel; a brother and two sisters.

Jewell is survived by her son, Gary Lee Ummel; four granddaughters, two sisters, Helen Kay and Ann; a special niece, Linda Redfern and extended family.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 6,2021 at 2:00 pm at Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home with a visitation at 1:30 pm and burial will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery.
