Jessie L. (Bush) Pierson passed away October 27, 2013. She was born October 15, 1937 in Laurel, MS to Minnie Lee and K.O. Bush. She graduated Valedictorian of her class of 1955, Agricola H.S. She was a member of the 1955 All-State Basketball Team, Agricola, MS. She attended the Baptist School of Nursing, Memphis, TN. She married Wesley Smith in 1956 and to that union four children were born. In 1984 she married M. Roy Pierson. She retired from KOLR-10. She was a member of Cherry Street Baptist Church. Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roy, and two brothers, Elmer P. Bush and O. Ray Bush. She is survived by 4 children; Terri (Fred) Edgar, Greg Smith, Todd (Ann) Smith, and Bruce Smith; 2 sisters, Sue Pates and Vera Barton; 2 brothers, Earl (Jackie) Bush and Ellis (Helen) Bush; 2 step-daughters, Sylvia Pierson and Sheila Davis, 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Monday, November 4, 2013 at 12:30pm in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Missouri Veteran's Cemetery.
